Akeem Grant, A.K.A DJ Jungle Jesus is a vibrant and ambitious Jamaican Disc Jockey who specializes in the production of Mixtapes, Artiste Promotion and playing at Parties and Special Events. He also owns the promotion company “Jungle Jesus Promotions”.
Jungle Jesus hails from Arnett Garden, Trench Town, and A.K.A “Jungle”.
In the summer of 2013 was when Jungle Jesus first emerged on the scene, at that time, he was found predominantly on Facebook, writing motivational quotes and relationship mantras. These activities caught the attention of a number of females, who then turned to him for small relationship advice. The more he did this, the bigger his female fan base grew. It was at that point he coined the name Jungle Jesus, in part because of his hometown roots, the adoration of females and it allowed him to have a unique name and brand.
In the summer of 2014, Jungle Jesus decided to try his hand at mixing songs, since this was something he was always passionate about growing up. He figured since he had already built a fan base, it wouldn`t be difficult to get them on board. Astonishingly, it worked as intended. He then started making mixtapes which he then uploaded to his newly created YouTube Channel. Some of his fans were in full support as they followed and shared the links to his work. While some of the fans embraced and supported him, some highly criticized his work, stating that it was not good, but those criticisms (though not always constructive) inspired and motivated him to work even harder. At this point, he started acquiring male fans, hence the harsher criticisms but he wanted everyone to enjoy his mixtapes (not just females), so he knew he had to work twice as hard in winning the male fans over.
Based on Jungle Jesus’s demeanor, soft spoken voice and natural good looks, the ladies are naturally drawn to him and some have even referred to him as “DiGyalDemJesus”, a slogan he has embraced.
One of the biggest break of his career came in summer of 2015 when he released his sizzling mixtape “Panty Snitch Dancehall Mix Vol. 1 Summer 2015” which exceeded 120, 000K views in one week on YouTube , in addition to approximately 2, 000 purchases within two months in the streets from vendors. Following the success of “Panty Snitch”, Jungle Jesus followed up with another mixtape called “Vybz Kartel Lock Behind Captivity Vol. 1 Oct 2015”; which exceeded the success of Panty Snitch and went to over 807, 309K Views on YouTube.
Jungle Jesus’s promotion company promoted songs/ albums for artistes such as: Beenie Man, Demarco, Double Ddee, D’Angel, Shauna Chyn, Posh Morris, Hood Celebrity, Destiny Sparta, Ding Dong, Kalado, Baby Lawd, Lanz, Baby Cham (Cham), Aidonia, Vershon, Gage, Bad Gyal Jade, Stylo G, Razor B & Zagga, to name a few.
